Staff Scientist - Experimental Particle or Nuclear Physics

The SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory invites applicants for a position in Experimental Particle or Nuclear Physics with our group on the nEXO neutrinoless double beta decay experiment. This position will be at the level of Staff Scientist or Senior Staff Scientist, commensurate with the qualifications of the candidate. Applicants must have a Ph.D. (or equivalent), extensive postdoctoral experience and a demonstrated record of excellence in research. The ideal candidate will be capable of assuming a leadership role in the nEXO project and science.

The laboratory setting offers interactions with the vibrant scientific program at SLAC, encompassing a wide range of experimental and theoretical fundamental physics, including groups pursuing research in proton collider physics with ATLAS, dark matter searches with HPS, LZ, and SuperCDMS, neutrino oscillations at the Fermilab Short Baseline Neutrino program (MicroBooNE and ICARUS) and DUNE, and dark energy with DESI and LSST. From the nEXO standpoint, SLAC is geographically located in close proximity of the groups on the Stanford campus and at Lawrence Livermore National Lab, providing opportunities for synergistic activities. The SLAC liquid nobles test platform also provides significant LXe detector development and testing capabilities.
