Summary:

AC Transit is actively recruiting for the position of Senior Employee Development Representative. Under general supervision, this position performs professional level employee training and development functions including supporting the implementation, delivering, and evaluating training programs, conducting needs assessments, and serving as a resource for information on external training program content and availability.

Representative Functions:

Assists with the implementation of District-wide training programs and targeted professional development courses for employees at all levels that support Critical Business Outcomes (CBOs).
Trains and/or facilitates classes for District employees in a variety of content areas in order to meet the needs of individual departments, as well as District CBOs and objectives.
Analyzes training needs continuously, and revises content as necessary to improve individual and organizational productivity, communications, and management effectiveness.
Implements, coordinates, and evaluates all aspects of courses and programs, such as lesson plans, appropriate formats, media, and material.
Researches new theories and technological progress in content areas relevant to District departments, and determines methods and procedures appropriate for each area
Administers the delivery and scheduling of programs provided by external vendors.
Designs publications and handouts for promotion of courses and for use as instructional aids.
Coordinates the necessary staffing and materials for required courses, as well as the scheduling of participants and facilities.
Prepares and maintains a variety of records and reports related to training activities.
Performs related duties, as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Education, Training, Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a closely related field.

Experience: Equivalent to four (4) years in assessing training needs; and the design, development, facilitation, and delivery of a wide range of employee and management training courses and programs in multiple content areas in a multi-ethnic organization. Experience must include the writing and development of course content and materials, giving group instruction using multiple training methods, and evaluating training outcomes.

Additional Information:

Physical Requirements: (1) must maintain the physical condition necessary to perform tasks in an office setting and operate computers, keyboards, and other peripheral equipment. (2) Must possess the physical mobility necessary to transport oneself to various locations around the District.

Vaccination Requirement for Candidates Seeking Employment: Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District has implemented a requirement that requires all candidates for District employment to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, including variants, prior to being employed by the District, subject to limited exceptions. AC Transit adopted this vaccination policy as an emergency public health response to mitigate the negative public health consequences associated with increased incidence and test positivity rates and the prevalence of new virus variants, including increased hospitalizations, intensive care unit admissions, and deaths.

Pension: All AC Transit employees participate in a lifetime defined benefit pension. All employees hired on or after January 1, 2016, may be in the District's Tier II pension plan covered by the Public Employees' Pension Reform Act of 2013 (PEPRA). As such, he/she may be required to contribute a small portion of annual income towards the cost of his/hers District pension.
