SUMMARY:
AC Transit is actively recruiting for the position of Senior Capital Planning Specialist (Grants Administration). Under general direction, provides professional grants administration, and financial and analytical support to develop capital funding plans. Some duties in this classification involve assessing legislation and maintaining on-going relationships between the District and external funding agencies and transit associations to advocate for funding and legislation that facilitates the improvement of transit services provided by the District.

REPRESENTATIVE FUNCTIONS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in transportation planning, public administration, public policy or a directly related field. A Master's degree in a related field is preferred.
Experience: Four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience performing professional administrative work in grants administration, capital or transportation planning and/or financial analysis.
Knowledge of: Public transportation-related policies, needs, issues, constraints and trends; local, county, regional, and state transportation and government agencies, and their lines of communication, planning, and funding processes; principles and practices of grants administration and capital planning; project management; general public administration, government and policy development, financial analysis including cost/benefit analysis; research and report preparation;; contract administration and compliance; pertinent local, state and federal rules, regulations and laws; current office procedures and methods; and computer equipment and applicable computer software programs.
Ability to: Work independently; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; analyze legislative and regulatory language; prepare reports; identify and interpret technical, financial and grant-related information; monitor and problem solve operational and technical policy and procedures; prepare complex financial and analytical reports and grants; research, analyze and evaluate a variety of data including financial, organizational, administrative and operational; effectively coordinate multiple projects and studies and meet multiple deadlines; and build and maintain positive working relationships with those contacted in the course of work using principles of excellent customer service.
Physical Requirements: Must maintain the physical condition necessary to: (1) perform tasks in an office setting operating a personal computer, keyboards, and other peripheral equipment; and (2) possess physical mobility in order to travel to and attend meetings and events.

Benefits: All employees hired on or after January 1, 2016, may be in the District's Tier II pension plan covered by the Public Employees' Pension Reform Act of 2013 (PEPRA). As such, he/she may be required to contribute 6% or more of annual income towards the cost of his/hers District pension.
