Department: Office of the Vice Provost for Student Affairs
Appointment Duration: Three year fixed term from the hire date
Stanford University has an immediate opening for an Associate Director of Communications for Student Health and Well-being. This position will be in the Division of Student Affairs, which supports many student experiences outside the classroom in our residences, community centers, student organizations, health center, career education center, and more.
We are making significant changes on campus to positively affect the health and well-being of Stanford students and better support their learning experience. The university is adding new resources both to augment and enhance existing services and to develop and revise our programs in response to the evolving needs of students. However, we continue to hear from students that they don't fully understand what resources are already available and how to access them, how they can find relevant campus information online, and how they can participate in the development of responsive student services.
The university is seeking a well-rounded and experienced professional communicator to create and implement effective communications strategies and tactics to raise student awareness of these new and continuing health and well-being campus resources. This person will have demonstrated experience, judgment, and skills to work successfully with a young audience.
This is a new three-year, fixed-term, full-time position in the Office of the Vice Provost for Student Affairs reporting to the Communications Director. Working with senior management and other staff, the Associate Director will partner with multiple VPSA units and offices including the Centers for Equity, Community and Leadership, Dean of Students Office, Graduate Life Office, Residential Education, and Vaden Health Center.
In addition, this Associate Director will support broader VPSA communications objectives, including executive communications, media relations, and digital communications, in collaboration with relevant university-wide offices to advance Our Most Important Work.
Inclusion and diversity are integral to our commitment to excellence. We are interested in candidates who have demonstrated experience engaging with diversity through activities such as fostering an inclusive environment, working with students from diverse backgrounds, or incorporating diverse perspectives in their work.
