About the Opportunity

Northeastern University invites applications for multiple open-rank, tenured and tenure-track positions (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) as a major interdisciplinary and cross-college hiring effort under its new NanoSystems Innovation (NanoSI) Initiative. The goal of this initiative is to enable Northeastern to assume global leadership in use-inspired research and education in the broad area of NanoSystems. The heterogeneous integration of advanced materials, structures and devices into NanoSystems enables advanced sensing, communication and computing functionalities at the chip-level that are not possible today and it represents the key technology platform behind so-called "must-win" applications such as, 5G/6G communications, artificial intelligence, quantum information science and nanomedicine.

We seek exceptional, game-changing applicants in the broad areas of semiconductors, photonics, RF/mmWave devices and circuits, sensors and actuators, nanofabrication, heterogeneous integration, advanced packaging, quantum information science and biodevices. Other areas of science and engineering will also be considered.

Appointments will be primarily or fully in the College of Engineering within the Departments of Bioengineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Mechanical and Industrial Engineering. This position has potential for both joint cross-department appointments and joint cross-college appointments in the College of Science, College of Social Sciences and Humanities, College of Arts, Media and Design, Bouve College of Health Sciences or the D'Amore-McKim School of Business. Positions will primarily be on the Oakland campus but may be available at the Burlington campus as well.
