Who We Are:
The Fund for the Public Interest is seeking hard-working individuals with good communication skills and a passion for social change to fill citizen outreach and field manager positions across the country this summer. We currently have paid canvasser and field manager positions open in select cities across the country.
In Oakland, we're working with Environment California on a campaign to save the bees. Nearly 1 in 4 native bee species are at risk of going extinct, and honeybee colonies are collapsing. Due to their key role in nature, when pollinators die out other species go extinct as well. Everything from climate change to habitat loss hurts our bees, but a class of pesticides called neonics is a leading factor. So, Environment California is urging our state leaders to ban the consumer use of bee-killing neonic pesticides.
