Specific Responsibilities:

Lead Medical Education functional area within the IAO group by serving as a medical resource to the Regional Leads and in-country distribution partners

Essential Duties and Job Functions:

Overview:
The Foster City-based MS will join the IAO team reporting to the Vice President of the group. He/she will disseminate clinical information about Gilead’s innovative products to thought leaders, academic institutions, centers of excellence, international agencies and professional organizations throughout Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean.

Principle Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
? Lead Medical Education functional area within the IAO group by serving as a medical resource to the Regional Leads and in-country distribution partners
? Work with Regional Leads to develop and implement defined goals and objectives aligned with IAO’s strategic initiatives; create plan for cultivating and maintaining working relationships with existing and future global thought leaders in Access markets
? Deliver timely, accurate and succinct clinical and scientific presentations to Healthcare professionals, both proactively and in response to requests for information, consistent with promotional compliance and regulatory requirements
? Lead, develop and participate as required in advisory boards, symposia and educational programs, such as speaker Training initiatives and clinical conferences
? Collaborate with colleagues in other functional areas including: Clinical Research, Medical Communications, Sales and Marketing
? Maintain IAO web portal and relevant materials as a resource for information
? Adhere to applicable Foreign Corruptions Practices Act (FCPA), Pharmaceutical codes, guidelines and Gilead policies

Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

? Advanced scientific degree (MD, DO, PhD, PharmD or NP/PA strongly preferred) with experience in the Pharmaceutical industry or related Healthcare field required
? A minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience in a medically related endeavor (i.e., Infectious Disease , with strong knowledge of the clinical research process, treatment landscape and guidelines)
? Strong business skills/acumen; translation of scientific expertise and knowledge to achieve the identified business goals of the company
? In-depth knowledge of distance/mobile learning programs and concepts a plus
? Excellent project management, problem solving and organizational skills, including the management of multiple priorities and resources
? Capacity to develop and deliver high-quality, scientifically accurate and credible presentations essential
? Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment
? Affinity for a collaborative, team-oriented environment and approach; ability to network and partner with internal and external stakeholders, including medical thought leaders, regional distributors, academic institutions, large group practices, medical directors and pharmacy directors
? Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills required; language proficiency a plus, but not required
? Ability to travel 20-30% of the time
