The BSA will oversee and guide the day-to-day operational activities of the Electronic Data Capture (EDC) Oracle Pharmaceutical Applications (OPA) Operations Team to ensure undisruptive and high- quality Support is provided to the Clinical Data Management (CDM) and Clinical Operations Groups. Additionally, the resource may work on a wide array of projects spanning system integrations and identify automation and process improvements in electronic data capture and reporting processes in Support of clinical drug development.
This position supports the PGL and GI requirements process for in- house developed or purchased IT systems to meet functional area business needs in the Product Development functional domain. The BSA is expected to monitor deliverables for quality, and implementing Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process improvements while providing continuity through adherence to PGL's IPMPF and GI's Project Lifecycle Process (PLC) as appropriate.
Responsibilities: The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for: * Manage EDC and OPA Operations Projects; Assign resources and manage project * Supporting the successful implementation of technical solutions by providing business process analysis design, strategic vision, best practice research, detailed requirements definition alignment, user- centric functional design, vendor evaluations, systems assessments, and user acceptance facilitation. * Planning early stage project efforts; specifically, requirements gathering methods based on user community work style, requirements assessment and scoping, and project initiation and funding * Collaborating with Project Managers, Architects, Engineers, Developers, and Designers on scope, solutions, constraints, and risks * Analyzing and documenting on current and future business process models * Analyzing and documenting task models that accurately represent a cross-section of a particular end-user community * Planning and facilitating workshops and end-user working sessions intended to surface requirements and validate designs * Analyzing and documenting high-level requirements (scope) * Analyzing and documenting detailed functional requirements and business rules (use cases) * Analyzing and documenting data requirements (from business needs perspective)
Requirements: * 5+ years business systems analysis and Support experience with various types of Software Development Life Cycle methodologies * 3+ years experience in Biotechnology or Pharma * Proven Project Management experience * Advanced English language skills, including Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking * Strong presentation and meeting facilitation skills * Demonstrated focus onCustomer Service, team development and on-time delivery * Strong analytical and problem solving skills * Must be able to write specifications and create and execute deployment plans * Scientific experience a plus including exposure to clinical data management systems, including EDC, statistical and data analysis and business intelligence solutions * Ability to rapidly understand business requirements and communicate business expectations to cross-functional technology development teams. * Demonstrated ability to quickly learn the business in unfamiliar areas * Identifies, designs and supports incremental process improvements within the work group * Ability to work with little day-to-day instruction and only general instructions on new projects or assignments * Previous Team Lead and/or experience managing a matrixed team highly desired
Must Haves: * 3+ years experience in Biotechnology or Pharma * 5+ years experience in Business Systems Analysis in an enterprise IT environment * Demonstrated experience collaborating effectively across multiple customer and IT functions * Large project implementation experience in a matrixed IT organization
Education: * Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Life Sciences, or Business
