Job Description
Specific Responsibilities
As part of Cisco IT’s Enterprise Release Management Office (ERMO), the IT Analyst for Environment Services is responsible for the engagement with IT Infrastructure teams.
Interfaces with IT Infrastructure groups (DBAs, Sys Admins, Engineers) in many of aspects of Enterprise Release Management. Represents Infrastructure teams reviewing Change Requests for projects that might impact them. Collects and reports metrics for Quarterly & Monthly releases, including but not limited to environment availability, escalations, and change requests.
Constructively challenges, and improves existing tools, processes and procedures. Assists Project Managers in the group. Documents procedures, processes, and best practices. Conducts analysis using a wide range of tools, technologies, and concepts, and reports relevant information. Comes up and maintains templates for metrics and all internal and client facing communication.
Participates in shifts within ERMO during release transitions and go-live activities. This function requires occasional off-hours and weekend activities.
This role will report into the Manager of IT ERMO Environment Services.
Required Qualifications: •BS degree in Information Technology or equivalent, and 5+ years work experience. •4 years experience as an IT Analyst. •Strong analysis and requirements definition experience. •Strong verbal and written communication skills a must. •Experience in a Service-oriented organization. •Problem Solving and root cause identification skills. •Demonstrate interest and knowledge of IT development tools and systems. •Expertise in Excel and reporting tools (e.g. Business Objects). •Reputation as a team player.
Preferred Qualifications:
•ITIL knowledge •Knowledge of Oracle Database and Development tools.
