The following opportunity exists in our South San Francisco, CA facility:Scientist/Sr. Scientist - Neuroscience Job ID: 1000031963 South San Francisco, CARESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities: An opportunity exists for a highly motivated and talented scientist in the area of neurodegenerative disease. The investigator will be responsible for conducting cutting-edge translational research to understand disease pathophysiology and discover biomarkers that identify disease heterogeneity and predict response to therapy. The successful candidate will run a laboratory, direct research associates and is expected to publish original findings as well as interact with clinical development teams. The position reports to the Director of the Tissue Growth and Repair Biomarker Discovery Department and will have a joint appointment in the Neuroscience Department. The Department has access to a number of world-class research Support cores and clinical trial samples and data.
Requirements: Applicants must have a PhD, MD or MD/PhD degree and at least 3 years of postdoctoral experience in the area of neuroscience. Preference will be given to candidates with research or clinical experience in the area of neurodegeneration, including Alzheimer's Disease. The candidate must have demonstrated a record of sustained scientific accomplishments as evidenced by publications in top-tiered journals and presentations of their work at relevant scientific conferences. Candidates from industry should have made significant and creative efforts contributing to the advancement of understanding of disease biology and process of biomarker and diagnostics development. All candidates should exhibit evidence of collaborative interactions and the potential to organize and lead a productive research team.
