Job Title: Senior Technical Marketing Engineer – Virtualization Architect - VMware

In this role at Server Access and Virtualization Business Unit (SAVBU) at Cisco, you will have the opportunity to work in one of the fastest growing business units in the company. We are looking for a technical, dynamic and success driven senior engineer to play a key role on strategic server virtualization datacenter product and solution with specific expertise in VMware Server technologies and Virtual Desktop Interface technologies. We are looking for candidates with strong Virtualization, server Architecture and application background. You will be part of a dedicated team. Job responsibilities:

In this hands-on technical role you will be responsible for the total system level solution definition and implementation involving key VMware virtualization concepts.
Experienced in Datacenter Solutions, ability to develop technical and marketing content involving Server platform, access layer, virtualization and application.
Proven ability in taking use case scenarios and architecting compelling solution studies for our platform with differentiation where applicable.
Work closely with key Systems Integrators and Cisco Technology Partners to identify and penetrate target accounts
Creating and updating high-impact collateral, including data sheets, presentations, whitepapers and case studies.
Will act as the technical interface on customer Sales calls, when required, and assist in preparing responses to RFP's, RFI's, and RFC's.
Participate in proof of concept, product demonstrations and presentations.
Ability to present at conferences and seminars. This person should be capable of speaking at User Group events, industry events, etc.

Skills and Requirements:

Ten plus years of experience datacenter technologies (Server, Application, Virtualization) in an Engineering role with increasing levels of responsibilities.
Five Plus years of experience with Server Virtualization and Desktop Virtualization technologies.

Products/technologies:
Strong understanding of Server related Vmware technologies (vSphere, ESX Server, vCloud Director)
Indepth understanding of HA, DRS, VMotion, & Site Recovery Manager solutions.
Excellent understanding of Vmware Desktop Virtualization technologies such as View, ThinApp and related technologies
Five plus years experience with server platform, blade server or rack mount server ( x86 )
Strong working knowledge of Network and Storage technologies
Adept at developing solution guides, proof-of-concept studies, best practices studies.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Partner and customer relations management

Requires B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical field.
