Specific Responsibilities:
Minimum Experience
10-15 years relevant experience and a BA or BS in Finance or Economics and relevant experience managing a risk management team.
Experience in multi-national organization is required.
4+ years managerial experience is required.
Essential Duties and Job Functions:
* Partners with the Corporate Treasurer to provide leadership, development and management to all treasury personnel.
* Responsible for leading the treasury operations team and risk management team personnel.
* Leads by example as well as directs treasury team to ensure accurate, efficient, quality results are obtained.
* Provides tactical and strategic leadership over the treasury function aligned with Company goals.
* Oversees compliance with the worldwide Controller’s manual, board approved policies and to all applicable laws and regulations.
* Ensures the existence of proper internal controls over Financial assets.
* Reviews and approves investments, reconciliations and SOX assessments.
* Serves as cross-functional leader for the Treasury function.
* Requires ability to change the thinking of or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations.
* Participates in strategic Financial planning and discussions.
* Manages and administers relationships with outside Financial institutions and Insurance related parties.
* Responsible for the strategic development of Gilead’s global risk management program.
Drives a “business value, enterprise risk” approach to review, manage and handle risk by influencing and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to identify best practices and process improvement opportunities.
* Aligns overall risk management strategy with Company goals and provides leadership over risk management function.
* Requires the ability to change the thinking of or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations.
* Manages and administers relationships with outside vendors.
* Provides direction and coordination to professional staff within the risk management and treasury operations department.
Provides career development for all direct reports.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
* Must have extensive proficiency in all aspects of treasury; portfolio management, cash management, foreign exchange markets and hedging, corporate Banking and risk management.
Strong proficiency in finance and treasuryAccounting.
* Ability to evaluate and mitigate Financial risks to the Company.
Proficiency with Microsoft tools (Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint) required.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with multiple functions.
* Proven ability to establish credibility with diverse audiences and be perceived as a leader.
Senior managerial experience supervising a treasury team is required.
* Knowledge of life science,Healthcare, biotech experience a plus.
* Must be fluent in English (written and spoken).
