SCOPE:
The Business System Analyst performs enterprise-wide research and analysis, resulting in written recommendations for a variety of strategies and solutions based on the business software applications used. The Business Analyst participates in all phases of the software development lifecycle; leads requirements gathering and documentation; and serves as a liaison between business and Information Technology. Partnering with business representatives at all levels of the company.
The Business System Analyst assesses, initiates, refines and drives appropriate business software solutions. In addition, is also responsible for communicating to and educating end-users on the software changes or new product functionality.
The Business System Analyst utilizes consulting and application skills, business knowledge, and packaged solution expertise to effectively integrate packaged technology into Mizuho OSI's business environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Understand, Support and follow the Corporate Vision, Mission & Values Statements.
- Support company goals and objectives.
- Understand, follow and Support Mizuho OSI's internal Quality System policies, procedures and work instructions including but not limited to applicable external regulations (21 Code of Federal Regulations Part 820 Quality System Regulations and applicable International Standards).
- Meet aggressive deadlines with high quality results.
- Must undertake extensive program and structural database development tasks.
- Review business requirements and detailed specs to develop test scripts and testing plans with schedule.
- Develop work plans, managing deadlines and coordination of projects team and sub-team activities.
- Work with different functional areas across the company to identify, research and resolve complex data issues, in a timely manner, with minimal impact to the integrated system.
- Support integration efforts of Programs and Projects; set and control project scope.
- Create User Acceptance (UAT) test scripts to the approved requirements .
- Handle change requests and bugs resulting from the UAT process, ensuring completion and retesting.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - The qualifications below are the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to do this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Minimum of 3 years of programming/development experience with client interaction and application development with proficient understanding of multiple software development lifecycles.
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Experience with CRM, any ERP system is required; SAP preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational sills a must and should be able to work independently as self-directed.
- Must have client-server concepts and working knowledge of relational Databases such as Microsoft SQL, SAP.
- Experience with change management/version control.
- Experience with test case and test scenario development.
- Experience with unit, system, and validation testing.
- Ability to work individually and as a team.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows 2003/2008 server.
- Knowledge of MS SQL Server administration and analysis required.
- Must be able to work independently doing: Business Analysis, Project Scoping, Design, Integration, Implementation,Training, and Customer Support.
- Must be very familiar with full-life cycle (SDLC) development and formal change management (CM) methodologies.
- Crystal Reports Experience.
Job Knowledge: Uses ability as a skilled Business System Analyst in accordance with company policies and procedures to complete complex tasks in creative and effective ways.
Job Complexity: Works on assignments that are complex in nature where considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations.
Supervision: Works under general supervision, relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks/goals. May determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may provide guidance to other nonexempt personnel.
Education / Experience: Requires 4 - 6 years of related experience with increasing level of responsibility. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of Education and experience.
