Social Science Research Assistant (1A2):
The Psychology Department’s Symbiotic Project on Affective Neuroscience seeks a full time Research Assistant to work on multiple projects. Will work on neuroimaging and behavioral investigations into neural correlates of human emotion. The position’s role is to track and facilitate progress on lab projects. Primary responsibilities: participant recruitment, screening and training; MR scanner operation and data collection; data processing and statistical analysis; data maintenance; project tracking and scheduling; help with publication and grant proposal preparation and submission. Individual will facilitate communication within the lab and with collaborators, including Training of student assistants. This is a one year fixed term position with possibility of renewal.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, neuroscience, cognitive science or related field preferred. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are essential. Facility with computers, including the Linux operating system and programming/scripting, is desired. Previous research experience is preferred. Must be a quick learner, able to work independently, and show initiative.
