Lighting Technician I (2 Fixed Term (6 mos) positions available)
Responsibilities: The relamper is responsible for the relamping of lighting fixtures throughout the university.
Other task may also include:
•Replacement of damaged, faded, or broken diffuser covers
•Cleaning and inspection of covers to insure security
•Testing of sockets for power to identify bad ballast
•Proper disposal of used lamps
•Communicating with Lighting technicians for needed electrical repairs
•Communicating with customers of the arrangements for repairs
•Scheduling of the repairs to be done by the Lighting technician with the customer
Qualifications: Must be able to work inside laboratories, classrooms, offices, and residences safely and efficiently. Have excellent Customer Service skills. Have a great attitude towards all aspects of the job. Be able to communicate properly with everyone. Be timely and clean. Work independently and safely around others. Maintain a respectable and professional appearance at all times. Be willing to learn about the job and the technical side of the position as granted. Have a valid California Drivers License.
