In the key position, you will be responsible for the following:
Management, coordination and completion of the Controller’s Department’s requirements for the Bank’s Basel II Advanced implementation program. This involves the determination and documentation of the business, data and functional requirements to
Support this plan. This position will report directly to the Senior
Finance Risk Reporting and Basel II Manager.
Specifically, you:1.Will plan and direct the implementation of the bank-wide Basel II Advanced framework within the Controllers department. Will partner with Department management to ensure coordination of concurrent efforts with Basel II projects. Representative projects with potential “cross-department impacts include Regulatory Reporting, Shareholder Basel II Specific Reporting, Basel II Management Reporting, Reconciliation effort related to these reports and the Risk Weighted Asset/Capital calculator.
2.Interact with Basel II subject matter experts and Controllers’ leads to understand project progress and compile issues identified for escalation purposes.
3.Oversees the entire project life cycle using standard project (and if relevant, software development) methodology. Develops and delegates project tasks including test plan and acceptance testing to relevant project participants
4.Responsible for test and project task development and implementation. Evaluates and provides written and verbal updates on project status;
Financial forecasting, budget planning, administration, and reporting project costs, written project closing analysis, budget/actual comparisons and change management reporting
5.As a subject matter expert himself/herself, the Basel II
Finance Project Manager will participate actively in the execution of the plan and will lead and/or perform the determination and documentation of the business, data and functional requirements to
Support the development and the implementation of Bank of the West’s Basel II Program related to the Controllers/Finance functions
6.Responsible for maintaining the current Basel II Standardized (B2S) framework in place at the Bank, organizing the quarterly reporting of Basel II Standardized-related information to the shareholder (BNPP). Stays abreast of any new B2S-related guidance/requests from the shareholder and develops necessary infrastructure to meet these requirements
7.Responsible for the implementation of the Basel II Operational Risk framework within Controllers under the coordination of the Basel II Operational Risk Department.
8.Responsible for the implementation of the Basel II Business Process Review framework within Controllers under the coordination of the Basel II Business Process Department
Minimum Requirements:Required
Education or Equivalent Experience
•Bachelor’s Degree in
Finance or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required
•Required license(s) or certifications PMP preferred
Required Experience
•7 or more years of functional/professional experience
Administrative/Technical Skills/ Other Information
•Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
•Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills for report writing, business requirement proposals, client interaction, and methodology documentation.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with thoroughness and attention to detail is highly desired
•Must be able to work independently and proactively to take initiative to solve problems quickly
•Strong experience in database software e.g. Access, etc

•Will supervise a team of 2 or more professional staff
