Specific Responsibilities

Executive Communications: VP of IT
Job Summary?An individual contributor, working as a part of the IT Communications team to develop and execute strategic communications for a VP within the IT Organization
?Areas of responsibilities include ownership of VP communication design and delivery for key communication events including all major internal and external keynotes, panels, written communications and special projects.
Reports to?Cheri Machado-Knapp
Level?Grade 12
Primary Responsibilities?Design and develop communication strategy and Executive point of view for internal and external audiences.
?Ensure overall communications strategy is successfully executed across multiple channels in IT and partnering organizations (CIO, IR, AR, PR, Web, GA, IBSG, ETL, etc.).
?Develop day-to-day communication deliverables including but not limited to announcements, speeches, blogs and presentations briefing materials, special writing assignments, special project and event assignments.
?Provide coaching and critique of communication delivery.
?Drive design, content and reporting for VPs website for Executive communications.
?Establish a functional and cross-functional content partner network with key stakeholders for communication input, review and feedback
Skills Required?Ability to exist in a matrixed environment with CXO Communications but heavy interface with IT Communications and the office of the CIO.
?Demonstrates strong organization, program management and content development skills, with the ability to meet milestones, tight deadlines, and communicate status on concurrent projects.
?Demonstrates strong Executive influence skills.
?Ability to turn complex ideas into stories and visual concepts easily understood by a broad audience.
?Seen as someone who can provide positioning counsel.
?Flexible and resilient problem solver with the ability to gain consensus among others and manage sensitive situations.
?Strong interpersonal communications skills with maturity to interact comfortably with a vast spectrum of hierarchy within the function to gain consensus among others, managing sensitive situations and sensitive materials
?Capability and interest to market and business issues.
?Requires willingness to travel.
Prior Experience Needed?Has created an established track record and reputation for successfully growing the profile of an executive, functional area or business essential program.
?Has established case history of successful collaborating with other communication departments to deliver high impact communication strategy and Executive expertise to executives.
?Planning, priority setting, and driving timelines to manage multiple efforts concurrently
?Excellent verbal and written communication skills
?Demonstrated problem solving, negotiation and presentation/facilitation skills
?Proficient with the MS Office Suite
?College degree in Communication, Marketing or equivalent work experience
Knowledge Helpful to the Role ?Knowledge of networking or Communications IT industry
?Understanding of Web 2.0 technologies
?Change Management background a plus
