Experience: 10+ years experience in production, manufacturing, and/or combination of R&D and supply chain/logistics operations.
Skills: 'Significant operations depth and knowledge of production methods, forecasting/planning and materials systems, quality systems, new product development and transfer, root cause analysis, international business/trade practices. 'Must possess exceptional leadership skills and be able to formulate/articulate a mission/vision for the unit. 'Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, and management skills. 'Strong team skills in leading worldwide cross functional teams in a highly matrixed environment are essential. * Must be able to influence and communicate with management, partners, peers and subordinates equally well. 'Candidate must have strong written and verbal presentation skills, excellent analytical ability, and the skill-set to work on a broad variety of assignments simultaneously. 'Individual will be expected to positively influence all manufacturing business decisions for a broad spectrum of departments and business units. Duties and Responsibilities: Functional Responsibilities: 'Manufacture/test of all Life Science products at its' four (4) major manufacturing centers in California and Singapore; 'Select, train, develop, and manage plants managers, supply chain managers, and Support staff. Manage 7-10 direct reports. Current headcount of organization is ~450 employees. 'Transfer and scale up of all new products from R&D into the appropriate production site; 'Management of Supply Chain & Logistics departments, which manages the supplier base, providing both raw materials to production, as well as, finished goods products for Resale; overall spend of $200M. 'Management of the key product global forecast management system. 'Provide oversight and leadership associated with Bio-Rad's safety and environmental standards to insure that employees are provided with a safe and hazard free work place. 'Manage inventory levels throughout product life cycle stages.
Duties include, but are not limited to: 'Develop strategic and tactical manufacturing plans that Support the overall objectives of LSG and Bio-Rad. 'Work closely with Division managers and their staffs to plan for effective new product introduction and handoff to manufacturing. 'Manage overhead spend of ~$55M, and ensure costs are properly allocated to products. Ensure annual standard costs are established and published in Q3. 'Ensure compliance with Legal guidelines, Federal Import/Export Controls, contracting principles, sourcing and price/cost analysis requirements. 'Communicate closely with international Sales and Marketing staffs, to discuss product forecasts and/or quality concerns. 'Support Quality System by embracing quality principles and driving continuous improvements in manufacturing processes. 'Institute and oversee regular business reviews of performance against plans and KMI's. 'Insure that staff have the necessary technical and leadership skills needed to build quality products according to established standards and customer requirements.
