Bank of the West currently has an opening in the Treasury Asset Liability Management group. This position will be responsible for the development of high quality
Financial and business models. Additionally, this position will be involved in the development of business requirements and supporting documentation while also being responsible for thorough back testing and validation methodologies.

In this important role you will: 1. Be responsible for the development of internal models and methodologies.
2. Develop business requirements related to internal models and methodologies.
3. Develop model performance monitoring and validation techniques, including back testing.
4. Be responsible for supporting technology implementations of internal tools needed to implement developed models and methodologies.
5. Work with the Bank’s technology groups in determining the business requirements and specifications for the development of data structures for model validations and calibrations.
6. Coordinate the writing and maintenance of robust model and process documentation that satisfies the Bank’s internal model approval functions, audit requirements and the Bank’s regulators.
7. Require the development of models as part of the ongoing development of risk based
Financial modeling tools for the bank.
Requirements• Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline
• 2-5 years work experience in
Financial analysis and/or modeling or software industry.
• Prior software
Engineering experience very helpful.
• Must have knowledge of modeling software and some programming capabilities, e.g. SAS, C++,.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Must have strong report writing skill in creating business requirement proposals client interaction and methodology documentation.
• Strong problem solving skills.
• Demonstrate knowledge in risk measurement and management.
• Must have solid organizational skills, with the ability to handle complex projects in a multi-tasking environment and meet dead lines with quality results.
