Video Applications Development – Technical Leader


The IP Video Systems (IPVS) team is leading the development of products within the Cisco Videoscape solution, with the target of creating a unified video delivery model, where video content can be consumed at any time, and on multiple screens - TV, PC, and mobile devices, where users can effortlessly shift between the different devices.
We are looking for highly motivated software engineer to lead the area of application development within the VideoscapeArchitecture. This team is responsible for developing innovative applications and services which utilize the Videoscape infrastructure. You will be developing and leading various Videoscape application components, providing next generation services such as Origin Severs, Streamers, Network DVR, Linear and VOD streaming to STB and handheld devices, navigation and discovery of content, etc. Candidate should have practical experience with Web Service technologies, including SOAP, JSON, HTTP, XML, HTML5, JBOSS , J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, Flex etc.

Responsibilities include:
- Contribute personally and lead a diverse team of application developers
- Drive product development from concept to deployment
- Work closely with other team members in both local and remote office locations

Requirements:
1. At least 8-10 years experience on hands on development on C++ over Unix/Linux.
2. At least 4-6 years experience in designing of various components/subsystems independently and implementation of the same.
3. Must have good knowledge on multi-threading, event driven programming.
4. Knowledge on protocols like HTTP, RTP, RTSP, MPEG2TS is a plus
5. Must have good team work and communication skills.
