About the BU

The Digital Media Systems Business Unit (DMSBU) is a dynamic, fast-moving, and motivated start-up environment. This business unit is focused on new growth areas for Cisco in the area of enterprise video and digital media applications. The main focus is Digital Signage Applications on various endpoints and Content Delivery Networking. The end points can be BU developed embedded players as well as off the shelf integrated displays, tablets and mobile phones.

Reponsibilities

Responsibilities will include driving key thought leadership within and cross BU, liaison with partner companies and university research teams. The job will require extensive cooperation and coordination with product teams in the BU and all related technology BU's. The successful candidate will report directly to the Sr. DirectorEngineering, but will have a wide-ranging role. This position requires solid understanding of video technologies, delivery formats, software Architecture including end points and embedded browser frameworks.

Candidate Requirements:

•10+ years experience in architecting highly scalable Systems
•Solid understanding of Web Architectures, J2EE systems, & scalable content distribution
•10+ years of designing and implementing large scale systems
•Good understanding of Virtualization and Cloud computing architectures
•Good Understanding of Content Delivery Networking and embedded Systems
•3+ years of experience in video domain preferred
•Prior patent filings
•Strong architectural and technical background
•Strong communication and presentation skills
•Strong skills on working closely with tech leads and engineers
•Strong customer-focus
•Strong collaboration, influencing skills
•Strong technical, problem-solving and hands-on skills in distributed system Architecture and design, video, digital signage and content distribution domains
•Cross Geography interaction skills
