Specific ResponsibilitiesAs part of Cisco IT’s Enterprise Release Management Office (ERMO), the IT Infrastructure Project Manager for Environment Services is responsible for the engagement with IT Infrastructure teams. Interfaces with IT Infrastructure groups (DBAs, Sys Admins, Engineers) in all aspects of Enterprise Release Management. Makes sure agreed SLAs are met, and client objectives are prioritized. Handles case escalations for high impacting incidents in Test Environments. Represents Infrastructure teams reviewing Change Requests for projects that might impact them. Collects and reports metrics for Quarterly & Monthly releases, including but not limited to environment availability, escalations, and change requests.
Provides expertise on how test environments are used and how they should be better leveraged by development teams. Formulates project plans for environment delivery and
Support with infrastructure teams. Occasionally negotiates budget corresponding to enhanced
Support levels. Represents shared services organizations in multiple forums, interfacing with developers, testers, and Project/Program managers from many different departments. Accountable for environment stability, and coordinates Problem Management initiatives.
Participates in shifts within ERMO during release transitions and go-live activities. This function requires occasional off-hours and weekend activities.
This role will report into the Manager of IT ERMO Environment Services.
Required Qualifications:
•BS degree in Business, Information Technology or equivalent, and 10+ years work experience.
•Strong leadership, analytical and decision-making skills.
•Problem Solving and root cause identification skills.
•5+ years of experience with software Release Management, and Project Management.
•Previous experience in technical roles (developer, sys admin, DBA, etc.).
•Working knowledge of Oracle Database, Java, eBusiness Suite, or hardware.
•Excellent active listening and communication skills, both written and verbal
•Experience and knowledge of change management principles and methodologies.
•Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle.
•Recognized and trusted by peers and execs for their integrity and as an effective collaborator, cross-functional leader and facilitator.
•Must have a reputation for being diplomatic and a proven record of successful conflict resolution skills.
